  Shortcut Redirector


The Shortcut Redirector module allows you the ability to create redirects for your website. This module allows you to put a name in address i.e. http://www.someplace.com/products and redirect it the correct page in the database, i.e. http://www.somplace.com/article.php?id=143.




Shortcut Redirector Module Configuration Instructions.                                       

There are two different options available to you.  To get started, please select one of the following options below.

  1. Add a redirect - this section will explain how to populate your Shortcut Redirector module.
  2. Edit a redirect - this section will explain how to edit existing redirects.

Add a redirect
    • Login to your website with your full e-mail address and password.
    • At the Welcome menu, click on the Shortcut Redirector link.
    • Below the Article Resources title in the Term column, type in the word you want to use, i.e. marketing101, products, etc.  The word that you type in will be at the end of the address i.e   http://www.someplace.com/marketing101Note: The word does not need to be case sensitive, if you put in the word Marketing101 and your clients type in marketing101 it will still redirect correctly.
    • Next, from the Resource column, choose the page from the drop down menu in the database you want the word redirected to.
    • Repeat this process until you have completed all your redirects.
    • When you are finished, click on the Save button. You're done!  

Edit a redirect
    • Login to your website with your full e-mail address and password.
    • At the Welcome menu, click on the Shortcut Redirector link.
    • In the Term column, rename the current word to the new word you want to use. i.e. change marketing101 to products.  The word that you type in will be at the end of the address i.e http://www.someplace.com/marketing101. Note: The word does not need to be case sensitive, if you put in the word Marketing101 and your clients type in marketing101 it will still redirect to the correct page.
    • Next, from the Resource column, choose the page from the drop down menu in the database you want the word redirected to.
    • Repeat this process until you have completed renaming and modifiying all your redirects.
    • When you are done, click on the Save button. Finished!
